Why aluminium
Aluminium profiles do not warp, rot or require painting. Powder coating in any RAL colour lasts for decades and only needs occasional washing. Thanks to the material's strength, posts are slim and spans between them are larger than with wood, so the pergola does not appear heavy even over a large terrace.
Water drainage is concealed within the structure: the beam at the roof edge acts as a gutter, and water flows down via a drain inside the post. No visible gutters.
Roof: glass or polycarbonate
- Safety laminated glass (VSG) is transparent, quiet in the rain and the most durable. Available on request with print or tinting to prevent overheating. The heaviest variant, requiring stronger profiles.
- Solid polycarbonate It is lightweight, unbreakable and cheaper than glass. Available in clear, smoke or milky opal, it diffuses light and reduces the temperature under the roof.
- Cellular polycarbonate It is the lightest and cheapest, provides better insulation, but makes noise in the rain and becomes cloudy over time. Suitable for simpler shelters.
We design the roof pitch at 5 to 10 degrees so that water drains away and dirt does not accumulate.
Additions that turn a pergola into a room
- Screen blinds On the sides, they shade low sun and block wind while maintaining the view.
- Sliding glazing Frameless or framed glazing encloses the pergola in spring and autumn. This is the first step towards a winter garden.
- LED lighting integrated into profiles, dimmable, controlled via phone.
- Infrared heater extends the season by two months on each side.
- Pergola shading with an awning under the glass if the terrace faces south and the glazing itself would cause overheating.
Carport made from the same system
We use the same profiles and roofs for garden shelter or a carport for one to two cars. The structure differs only in span and pitch; the appearance remains consistent with the pergola at the house.

What affects the price of an aluminium pergola
Dimensions and span, roof type (cellular polycarbonate is the cheapest, glass the most expensive), colours outside standard shades and accessories. Blinds, glazing and lighting can be added later if provided for in the structure. We recommend stating this during the survey.
